Through quality financial planning conversations and actions, the client has more peace of mind about the sustainability of her income source.

The client came to TrustCore upon the referral of another divorcee client. She had just received her divorce settlement and had no working knowledge of finances. Her former husband handled all financial decisions.

TrustCore did a complete financial plan, taking a look at all aspects of her financial situation as the settlement sum was to be her main source of financial support for the remainder of her lifetime. She was very concerned about running out of money and cautious about spending it. We ran retirement projections and constructed her portfolio to fund several years of living expenses at a time to lessen the probability of selling investment positions in a down market.

TrustCore ensured she was protected with adequate personal insurance, reviewing existing liability, home, auto, and life policies in detail. We also added some long-term care insurance to ease the financial burden of end-of-life costs.

She lives on a family farm, and both children have a desire to live close by. TrustCore has been working through how to coordinate this with the children in a way that is fair and equitable both with gifts in life and the corresponding coordination of estate plans.

The client has brought her adult children in to meet TrustCore for legacy planning and in the event something was to happen to her.

Through quality financial planning conversations and actions, the client has more peace of mind about the sustainability of her income source. She also has a trusted resource for day to day financial and personal decisions and calls often for advice before proceeding.
