Mikael ("Mickey") joined TrustCore in 1987. In addition to his financial planning practice, he is President of TrustCore Investments, Inc. He directs the firm's investment policy and is responsible for investment regulatory oversight of TrustCore's financial planners.
As a financial planner and advisor for more than 22 years, Mickey has helped many professionals, executives, and business owners across Middle Tennessee secure their family's financial future. Clients work with Mickey not only for his expertise in the field, but also for his direct and honest approach to each individual situation. He has been successful in helping protect and grow his clients' wealth over the long term. Mickey develops both personal and business financial plans that cover investments and asset management, risk management and insurance, tax reduction strategies, stock option analysis, retirement planning, and educational funding, as well as charitable and estate planning.
Mickey is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a Renaissance Advisor (Charitable). In addition, he is an FINRA registered securities principal and a licensed agent for life, health, and property and casualty insurance. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
In 1976, Mickey graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He began his career as a teacher and coach at Brentwood Academy (1976-1977) before coaching football at the University of Mississippi. He served as a football coach at Vanderbilt from 1979 to 1984 and continues to enjoy working with young people, recently serving as the defensive coordinator for the football team at Brentwood Academy. Additionally, Mickey has served in many leadership roles in both the local community and throughout the larger Middle Tennessee area. He is a board member for Fitness Systems, a locally owned business. He also has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cumberland Bank, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Brentwood Academy, and Chairman of the Board for the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Fellowhip of Christian Athletes.
He and his wife, Bari, have four children: Carey Jacobs Peek (John), Mikael, Lane, and Mark. They make their home in Brentwood, Tennessee.
