During his 35-plus years of experience in financial planning, Bob has developed an individualized approach allowing him to assist clients with a wide variety of needs. Bob created a unique process called the “Strategic Wealth Journey” that he uses to structure a comprehensive plan and then to systematically review, and evaluate his clients’ financial progress. He has also developed a personal network of Middle Tennessee professionals who assist with legal and tax issues.

Some examples of how Bob has helped clients include:

Transitioning a family business  Bob worked with a business owner and his wife who were approaching retirement to produce a comprehensive financial plan. He developed a strategy for the client to transition the business to his two sons who worked with him. Bob created an equitable arrangement for a third child not in the business. He also assisted with structuring the wife’s retirement distribution. Bob coordinated key wealth transfer issues working with other professionals on the team.

Arranging the sale of an inherited family farm  When a brother and sister inherited a family farm, Bob coordinated with the attorney and CPA to settle the estate and then managed the sale of the property. He also facilitated a tax-deferred exchange on a portion of the property between one of the owners and a qualified exchange intermediary. Bob developed and implemented financial plans for both families using proceeds from the sale.

Assisting a client diagnosed with a terminal illness  Bob helped a client whose serious health problems required that he “put everything in order”. He first worked with the family to review and update their financial plan. Settling an estate can be complex and intimidating for a family. Consequently, Bob facilitated the entire process including transferring retirement assets and other assets to the surviving spouse. He also organized the estate outcome in a manner that gave the surviving spouse peace of mind and confidence.

Bob’s background  Bob has been with TrustCore since 1988 and works with high net-worth clients, including successful families and small business owners. Because his practice is so individualized, he adds a limited number of clients each year, many referred by his existing clients.

Bob is a deacon and active member of Brentwood Baptist Church. Bob is also past President of the Brentwood Rotary Club and past Trustee of the Brentwood Rotary Charitable Foundation. He is a member of the American Society of Financial Professionals and the Nashville Estate Planning Council.
 
Bob and his wife Debbie have been happily married for 30-plus years and are the proud parents of 3 adult children, Rebecca, John and Tyler.
